American Art Awards selects the 25 best art galleries and museums in America each Spring (April-May) and recognizes 300 winning artists in over forty countries as voted upon by the 25 best art galleries and museums during the Fall (September-October) of each year.

Thom Bierdz

Thom Bierdz is President and co-founder of American Art Awards. You may best remember Thom Bierdz as the handsome actor who portrayed Philip Chancellor III on the television daytime drama ‘The Young and the Restless’ between 1986-2011. Bierdz went on to an acclaimed Hollywood career with roles in ‘Murder She Wrote’, ‘Matlock’, ‘Robin’s Hood’ and many other well-known television series. He starred in the web series ‘Old Dogs, New Tricks’ and his poignant memoir ‘Forgiving Troy’ won the Grand Prize in both the National and International Book Awards after its publication in 2009 (USA Book News). An actor turned artist, it was actress Scarlett Johansson who hosted Thom’s first major painting exhibit at the Soicher-Marin Gallery in 2004. He was awarded ‘Best Emerging Artist of Los Angeles’  by Out Magazine in 2005 and the following year, his work in selling art to raise money on behalf of charities earned him the ’Key to the Light Award’ from The Thalians. Bierdz became President and co-founder of American Art Awards in 2008.
